History of the Merlo brand
Giuseppe Amilcare Merlo is at the origin of the creation of the Merlo company which was born in 1964. The Merlo company specializes in the production of telehandlers and other equipment intended for various fields such as agriculture, construction and industry. Merlo now offers several machines such as telescopic handlers, telescopic tractors, concrete mixers, and tool-carrying tractors. The first telescopic handler came out in 1981 and was called the SM30. Success will be direct thanks to innovations such as a rounded cabin with arched windows and a hydrostatic transmission. In 1987, he created the first telescopic handler with a side motor and low articulated boom. The first rotary turret telescopic handler was introduced a few years later. Over the years, Merlo continues to offer ever more innovative options for its forklifts. In 2014 the new Merlo range of telescopic handlers with stabilizers and the three entry, classic and advanced finishes are released. Today there are officially 4 lines of Merlo telehandlers.
